I have always viewed the architect as a holistic professional and found most rewarding experiences in the diversity of our daily experience - perpetually learning, continually teaching: advancing communities, building a sustainable environment, serving client’s needs, leading teams, managing projects, mentoring colleagues, while always striving become a better practitioner.

Born, raised, and educated in Germany, my path is very much based in the balance of tradition and modernity: on the one hand the “Baumeister” –master builder– the practitioner responsible for every aspect of the project, on the other hand the Art and Crafts movement, Bauhaus, and the visionaries of modernism.

The third influence in my life is a fervent believe that any human activity in this day and age must be based on long-term considerations for environmental sustainability and human health and welfare.

Exposed to emerging technologies as early as the mid-1990s, I realized these innovative concepts enable designers and builders of all disciplines to interact on a more fundamental level. Building my expertise in design, sustainability, and technical architecture, I’ve been using these tools to foster better reintegration of the responsibilities that have been siloed into specialists’ tasks.
