In the late 1990 the leadership of Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta, GA, established a development program to expand capacity by adding a new tower, a fifth runway, and a new 14-gate international terminal. A joint venture led by Leo A. Daly with Gensler and Anthony C. Baker Architects was retained for this project which included direct access to the highways system, a new 600-car parking and rental building, and the terminal with new security facilities, airline office and retail and food court.
