The medieval city center of Luebeck, Germany, is protected under UNESCO World Heritage status. Warehouses from the late 19th century on the adjacent harbor peninsula are also protected by local ordinance. Used for grain storage during the late 20th century, the warehouses fell into disrepair making current use difficult and leaving the peninsula, despite being in prime location, derelict This studio project is investigating the revival of the area while maintaining the historic character.
